let me tell you!  Here's how we started and our background story!

 

OK, so, you know how it goes, you buy some eggs to hatch to show the children, they get bored after a while and pretty soon your stuck doing all the work … well that’s what I thought would happen!!

 

Turns out though it’s quite the opposite. THEY LOVED THEM!  So we hatched a few more and then a few more still and before we knew it we now have loads birds and loads of eggs, and although we pickle some and give some to the neighbours it’s still way more than we can eat (and hatch).

 

The children (they are twins) were just old enough to learn and have an interest in money and pocket money and we thought what better way to teach them about it and give them a bit more responsibility than to let them sell some eggs properly.  More importantly though, over everything, is giving our birds a great life and teaching the kids about providing the best conditions to keep, HAPPY, HEALTHY AND HARDY BIRDS.

 

We all really enjoy having the quail and it gets the kids outside doing things whatever the weather.  We began our adventure into these fantastic little birds as a family during the great Covid Lockdown of 2020... But that was just the start.
